Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Plant Manager is a key member of the TerraSource leadership team with accountability for directing all plant activities related to machining, automation, welding, fabrication, shipping and receiving, and facility maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs and manages manufacturing site operations with overall accountability for production facility, material management, facility maintenance, and on-time shipments.
• Directly manages supervisors of Machining, Welding, Assembly, Maintenance, and Shipping / Receiving.
• Works with EHS to make a safe working environment a priority and ensures that all employees are held accountable to safety policies and practices.

• Works with Quality Supervisor to ensure process adherence throughout the facility.
• Establishes, monitors, and effectively communicates overall plant performance.
• Drives Lean manufacturing continuous improvement methodologies and actions.

• Participates with forecasting and budgeting process for the plant.
• Makes recommendations for capital improvements.
• Manages employee performance by setting and communicating expectations and goals in accordance with company goals, and documenting employee performance reviews.
• Provides coaching to direct reports for improved performance and works closely with Human Resources to manage employees within policies and procedures. Rewards and recognizes good behavior and top performers.

• Collaborates with peers in planning, engineering, supply chain, finance, and IT daily.

• Participates in strategy development to drive growth as part of the leadership team.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required to meet goals and objectives.

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or business management.
• At least five years of plant management experience
• ERP system software experience (e.g. SAP, JDE, Oracle, etc).
• Experience in Engineer to Order, low-volume, high-mix production environment
• LEAN management experience (6s, Gemba, value stream mapping, Kanban)
• Lean, APICS, PMP, and/or Black Belt Certification a plus.
• Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

• General machining, welding, and electro/hydro and pneumatic assembly knowledge with ability to read and interpret metal fabrication drawings, basic computer skills, CAD, and industrial safety knowledge.
• Ability to make decisions that are balanced and inclusive of the team's input.

• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements

• Measurement of performance to goals and standards
• Quality orientation and attention to detail
• Understanding of Gross Margin, mix, and financial performance
• Private Equity experience a plus
• Ability to have an outside view of serving a customer/sales team with a convincing perspective (if you can sell it...we can make it...I have your back)
• Ability to utilize as well as create effective excel spreadsheets. Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
